Faida 1.0.41

Added

  • Register an account with a verified email and create or select a business directly during terminal setup.
  • Buy a terminal's own licence in direct-download builds before or after pairing with a hub, with setup progress retained while connecting.

Improved

  • Sign in with an email address or verified phone number using a six-digit code. The app and web portal recognize the entered identifier and use the same identifier-to-code flow.
  • App sign-in, activation, licence reconnect and owner recovery now use native screens instead of browser/link login. Local password and PIN unlock remain available offline.
  • Login supports code autofill where the device provides it, with a full-width Sign in button.
  • Licence payment confirmations arrive through live events. Reconnecting restores the current payment status without starting another purchase.

Fixed

  • Keep each terminal's activation settings local, preventing unsupported settings changes from being refused by the hub.
  • Preserve existing portal sessions when adding passwordless accounts, and allow passwordless account owners to revoke their sessions.
  • Restore navigation from terminal setup back to the device-purpose choice.
  • Make sync diagnostics include the optional tables the app supports while preserving each session's enabled capabilities.
  • Keep sample-workspace sales available without cloud terminal registration.
  • Close workspace change subscriptions reliably, including when setup and closing overlap.

Faida Desktop 1.0.38

Fixed

  • Reconnect a licence directly from the Licence page. Faida reuses this device’s slot or claims an available or revoked business licence with time remaining and binds it to the current device.
  • Reconnection preserves the open workspace, local settings, staff and sign-in while replacing the licence and cloud credentials.

Improved

  • Buy a licence, Reconnect licence and View Cloud licences share a compact desktop row and wrap on smaller screens.

Faida Desktop 1.0.37

Fixed

  • macOS setup and cloud sign-in no longer fail with a missing Keychain entitlement when clearing a credential that does not exist. Local credentials stay in the local, nonsynchronizing Keychain.
  • Updating and clearing local credentials now consistently finds existing entries, and clearing a credential service removes every entry.

Improved

  • macOS CI and release builds now exercise real Keychain creation, reads, credential updates, and deletion before publishing.

Faida Desktop 1.0.36

Added

  • Monitor mode lets you sign in to your Faida account and view synced business dashboards, sales, invoices, customers, inventory, reports, licences, and devices without creating a local shop workspace. Setup now separates Monitor, POS terminal, and workspace hosting.
  • Cloud reports and documents can be previewed, exported, and printed from Monitor. Business switching and navigation reflect the information available for each business.
  • Licence checkout supports purchasing and renewing licences from the app, with payment status tracking and administrative licence grants.

Improved

  • Portal business, licence, billing, and device pages use clearer layouts and updated navigation. The public website adds restaurant service and online ordering information, refreshed product images, and clearer feature descriptions.
  • Restaurant POS controls, cart layout, report date ranges, charts, and document printing have been refined.
  • The app now uses the Africa Algolab Faida application identifier across Android, iOS, and macOS. macOS migrates an existing workspace from the previous application location. This identity transition requires installing the new macOS download; Android installs under the new app identity.

Fixed

  • Monitor dashboard notices have space above the cards, and invoice search uses a clean search icon.
  • Data tables have square borders, fit short lists to their rows, and scroll longer lists. Duplicate separators, disconnected table edges, and overlapping sidebar submenu borders have been removed.
  • Cloud account credentials stay separate from shop sync credentials, and Monitor does not open a local shop database.

Website

  • Faida now has dedicated public Support and Account Deletion pages for app-store listings and customer requests.
  • The Privacy Policy now explains local-first storage, optional cloud processing, device permissions, sharing, retention, and data rights; the Terms now cover accounts, licences, business data, app stores, availability, and deletion.
  • Changelog has moved out of the primary navigation and now sits with Terms, Privacy, and Account deletion in the footer's Policies & releases section.

Added

  • A tablet can be the shop's server. Setting up Faida on an Android tablet now asks which machine it is — the server that holds the workspace, or a till joined to one you already have — instead of offering only the till. Choosing the server creates the workspace on the tablet and the shop's other tills connect to it, so a counter with no desktop can still run on more than one screen.
  • Hosting keeps going when the tablet is put down. While a tablet is serving, a notification holds the app open with the screen off and says how many devices are paired and what address a new one should use. Stopping hosting from that notification stops it properly; swiping the app away does not strand the tills mid-sale.
  • Pairing by scanning. The LAN hosting page now shows a QR of its address and pairing code, and a device with a camera pairs by scanning it instead of typing an address and six digits. The QR changes with the code, so a photograph of it stops working as soon as somebody pairs. Devices without a camera type the address and code as before.

Faida Desktop 1.0.34

Added

  • Reservations. A new Reservations page under Restaurant lists a day's bookings by time with the table, phone and note, and books, edits, seats, cancels or marks a no-show. Seating a party opens a bill at their table carrying their name and head count, so the order starts where the booking left off.
  • A booked table is held, and says so. From an hour before the booking until the party's time is up, the Table Planner draws the table amber with "Reserved 19:30 · Asha", and its sheet leads with "Seat Asha · 4 (19:30)" above a warning that seating a walk-in gives the table away. The till's table picker says the same rather than calling the table free.
  • The till can read the kitchen without leaving the sale. The POS header's Kitchen button now opens the pass in a sheet — Ready to run, Cooking, Queued — naming each dish, which table it is for and how long it has waited, and a dish can be started, marked ready or served from there. The full Kitchen Display is one tap further.

Fixed

  • Tables and Kitchen from the POS header now open as their own tabs. They used to push the route into whichever tab happened to be active, so the Kitchen Display appeared under a tab still labelled "Table Planner".

Faida Desktop 1.0.33

Added

  • Restaurant mode reaches the till. With Restaurant enabled in Settings, the POS carries a service row — Dine in, Takeaway or Delivery — with a table picker and a guest count for dine-in sales. The picker lists every table by area with what is on it: free, needs cleaning, out of service, or the open bill with its guests and how long it has sat. Picking an occupied table brings its bill to the till rather than starting a second order for the party.
  • Send to kitchen from the till. A "Send to kitchen" button opens the order and sends what has not yet gone, printing the kitchen ticket where one is configured; the sale stays on the rail to add to or charge, and each cart row says whether the kitchen has it. Charging in a restaurant sends anything unsent first, so a counter sale paid up front still reaches the pass. A switch under Settings › Restaurant turns that off.
  • The order board. The till's ticket list is now "Orders" in a restaurant: table bills and counter orders together, sorted by table, each showing the table or channel, guests, what is still to send, and where the kitchen is (queued, cooking, ready, served), with a send action on the row. Table bills can be commented on, assigned, split, merged and voided from the till; voiding strikes the kitchen items and leaves the table to be cleaned.
  • Tables and Kitchen are one tap from the POS header, with a count of dishes ready to go out.

Fixed

  • Merging into a table's bill kept the kitchen's items on that table; splitting a table's bill keeps the seated part on the table.

Faida Desktop 1.0.32

Changed

  • The dashboard's date range picker now sits at the end of the status line ("All time · 3 orders · 24 below reorder point"), beside the words that describe the window, instead of on its own row above the cards.

Faida Desktop 1.0.31

Fixed

  • After a successful in-app update the status bar no longer reads "Update check failed · Retry": the leftover staging folder from the install was being reported as a failed update.
  • A failed update check now retries by itself, starting a minute later and backing off, and clears as soon as a check succeeds — instead of waiting six hours or for a manual Retry.
  • A sync error caused by the server not answering clears on the next answered poll, rather than lingering until the next upload.

03 Sep 2026

Faida Desktop 1.0.30

Changed

  • Stock is adjusted, never typed. The product form no longer offers an "Opening stock" box on an existing product — that number was never what the app counts, so editing it changed nothing. It now shows the real on-hand figure with an Adjust stock… button, also on the product page: pick the location, see what the books say is there, enter what you counted, and the difference is recorded as a stock movement you can trace.
  • A new product's opening stock is recorded as a stock movement at the location you choose, so it shows up as on-hand immediately instead of reading 0.

Fixed

  • Workspaces activated before device-bound licensing could show "License signature could not be verified. This workspace is read-only" after an upgrade, even though the licence was genuine. They verify against the app's bundled keys again and keep working.

Faida Desktop 1.0.29

Website

  • The new feature atlas documents ten connected shop workflows, with real light-mode tablet screens and a detailed MDX guide behind every feature.
  • Documentation is now a standalone article application with eight practical guides, grouped navigation, reading times, page outlines, and previous/next links.
  • The new Faida blog publishes long-form field notes with editorial covers, article metadata, tags, related reading, and MDX authoring support.
  • Docs and Blog now appear in the shared website navigation and keep the established 3D night-market design while using a lighter reading surface for long articles.

Fixed

  • Sales quotes now upload. A quote's lines were being sent as records of their own, which Faida Cloud does not keep, so every upload batch containing one was refused, the queue never emptied, and hard sync would not start. Quotes travel with their lines on the quote, as the cloud stores them; a queue holding the old line records clears itself on the next upload.

Faida Desktop 1.0.28

Fixed

  • Re-activating a device whose cloud seat had been revoked gives it back its own seat — the same licence and the same paid term — instead of taking a free seat while its own stayed revoked, or landing on another device's row.
  • After re-activation the device no longer keeps reporting "Cloud access revoked": the revocation it came back from is forgotten the moment the new, verified entitlement is stored, so syncing resumes and queued changes upload.

03 Sep 2026

Mkondo thabiti

Kompyuta

Faida Desktop 1.0.27

Fixed

  • A device whose cloud seat had been revoked from the portal was shown "Cannot reach the sync server for updates" and a count of polls that "went unanswered", and kept retrying every few seconds. The app now says what happened — the server is up and has refused this device — and offers to re-activate it from the offline bar, the status bar and Sync Status. Sync Status also shows what the server actually answered, so a support call has something to go on.
  • Sync no longer retries a failing server at a fixed pace: the wait between failed polls doubles, up to five minutes, and a device that has been revoked stops polling altogether until it is re-activated.
  • Faida Cloud tells a revoked device that it was revoked, even after its session credential was cut with the seat, instead of the generic "could not be refreshed" answer the app is designed to keep retrying on.

Added

  • Search finds your records, not only pages. Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K) and type a name, a number, a phone or an SKU: products, customers and suppliers appear beneath the matching pages, and so do sales orders, invoices, quotes and purchase orders — matched by number, customer or supplier, your reference and remarks. The best match leads each section (an exact number first, then names that start with what you typed), and picking a row opens that record in its own tab. You only see the kinds of record your role can open.
  • Settings › Backup & restore: take a local backup, see the backups you have with their company, date, size and the version that wrote them, restore one, or delete one — from Settings as well as from General › Data › Backup. A backup now carries your attachments and product images alongside the data, and every restore asks first, naming exactly what is about to replace the workspace; a file that is not a Faida backup is refused before the question is asked.

Fixed

  • A reprinted till receipt for a walk-in sale printed a "Customer Walk-in" line; it now leaves the customer line out, as the till does.

Faida Desktop 1.0.25

Added

  • The dashboard is one page, at Home. Six figures for the window you pick — sales, cash collected, receivables, payables, inventory value and low-stock lines — with the change against the window before, a sales-and-cash chart that stacks what was collected on what is still owed per day or per month, a split of sales between the till and the back office, the sales and purchasing queues, the stock alerts, and who owes you and who you owe with their aging. Hover a column for its figures; tap it to make that day or month the window. Every row opens the record it names, and the whole page exports and prints. The separate Reports › Dashboard page is folded in; its old link lands on Home.
  • Every report now has Export CSV and Print in the window's chrome bar, and the file and the paper are exactly the report on screen. The financial, inventory, purchasing, customer and aging reports carry more: revenue, cost and margin by month, cash by tender, valuation by category, movements by type, purchasing by supplier and product, per-customer and per-party subtotals inside the aging buckets. A new Till report shows one shift's float, cash sales, pay-ins and pay-outs, expected against counted cash, and sales by payment method, reachable from the shift menu and from Reports.
  • Settings › Templates: a gallery of the document layouts with a live preview of your own invoice, quote, sales order and purchase order, a template per document kind, and a Compact or Detailed receipt layout previewed at thermal width.
  • Settings › Typography: the app's type is four roles — interface, chrome, titles and figures — each a face, a size and a resting weight, chosen per device and applied at once. Importance is shown by weight, never by size, so a larger setting makes the whole app larger without reshuffling it. The default rests light.
  • A phone layout for the whole back office: lists become cards with the columns that matter, the sidebar becomes bottom tabs with module sheets, detail and edit pages fit a small screen with a way back, and the system back button behaves.
  • Right-click a row in any list for Open, Print and Delete; on a phone the same actions sit behind the card's ⋯ button.

Improved

  • Date fields open a calendar where the field is — a popover under it on a desktop, a sheet on a phone — with the pick read back in words. The report window field carries Today, Yesterday, the last 7 and 30 days, this and last month and this year beside the calendar, and applies on Apply, so a slip does not re-run every report.
  • A lost connection to the sync server is an amber strip with a Details link rather than a red banner across every page, and it no longer flashes on a passing blip.
  • The macOS menu bar names the app Faida.
  • Product detail panels sit at equal heights; the status bar is quieter; the amount select on document lines is sized to its contents.

Fixed

  • The home page's "valued SKUs" figure was capped at eight by mistake, and its receivables could disagree with the reports because it worked out figures by hand; both now come from the same pinned report rules every other page reads.

Faida Desktop 1.0.24

Fixed

  • Maintenance release. The desktop app is functionally identical to 1.0.23; this version carries the server-side fix for fresh installations, where the sync change log tried to watch the new point-of-sale records before their tables existed. Existing installations that already run 1.0.23 see no change in behaviour.

Faida Desktop 1.0.23

Added

  • Restaurant mode is complete on the desktop app. The table planner is a floor plan drawn from each table's stored position, grouped by area; a manager adds, renames and removes areas, adds, edits, retires and removes tables, and drags tables into place. A free table seats a party with a guest count, can be marked clean, and can be taken out of and back into service. Takeaway and delivery bills open from the planner and can be seated at a table later.
  • The bill sheet offers the whole catalogue with search and categories, adds dishes through the same variant and modifier pickers as the till with a note for the kitchen, edits guests, discount and delivery details, cancels portions by quantity with a reason the kitchen sees, voids a bill with a reason behind manager authorisation, and prints a pre-bill.
  • The kitchen display asks why a dish is cancelled, keeps its waiting times live, and can show recently served plates with a Recall.
  • The restaurant settings are honoured: bill number prefix, whether a finished table waits to be wiped or is free at once, the default area for new tables, and the turn time after which a table shows as running long. Parking from the till in a restaurant asks takeaway or delivery and takes the delivery address.
  • Card-terminal and mobile-money payments are recorded at the till as manual evidence — provider, reference and card last four — with a correction and void history. Email receipts queue with delivery status and retry. Loyalty cards can be scanned while picking a customer.
  • Manager approvals can be requested from another device over the LAN through an approvals inbox, and a workspace setting can require a second person for refunds and voids.
  • Open tickets can be searched, sorted and annotated, split into several named tickets, merged, and assigned to employees. The catalogue supports named shortcut pages with product, category and discount tiles.

Improved

  • The register is redesigned: a header grouped by how often each control is used, parked sales beside the open sales, one row of catalogue controls, product cards that show the product's picture, an order rail that starts with the customer, tender tiles that share the rail, and a centred amount dialog that can hold a part payment so a split tender is entered one payment at a time.
  • The whole app's chrome bar and tab strip now share the register's pill and tab style.
  • Phone widths get a Products and Order pane switch, a favourites filter and a grid or list catalogue.

Kompyuta

Faida Desktop 1.0.22

Fixed

  • A failed or superseded update installation no longer leaves the app stuck on "Update check failed". The updater now discards the stale pending-install record after reporting the failure once, so the next check runs cleanly — including after installing a newer version manually.

01 Sep 2026

Mkondo thabiti

Kompyuta

Faida Desktop 1.0.21

Improved

  • macOS builds now embed the updater's one-shot install helper and launch daemon metadata, with separate sealed policies for local ad-hoc builds and Developer ID-signed releases.
  • The release pipeline re-embeds the helper with the production signing identity before signing and notarizing the app bundle, then verifies the complete published updater release.
  • This first helper-equipped release directs existing macOS installations to the signed DMG once. Later releases can return to the normal in-app install hand-off.

Fixed

  • Downloaded and verified macOS updates can now complete the privileged installation hand-off instead of failing while preparing installation.

Faida Desktop 1.0.20

Added

  • Cashiers can record permission-gated pay-ins and pay-outs against the open shift, with required reasons, expected cash and a visible movement history.
  • Retail products can use required and optional modifier groups. Checkout uses the shared domain pricing rules, and selected modifiers survive tickets, receipts and refunds.
  • Custom roles can control POS discounts, refunds, ticket voids, cash management, shifts, variance visibility and drawer access. Local manager approvals are credential-verified, short-lived, action-scoped and audited.

Improved

  • Completed POS sales preserve their original tax label, mode, rate and code. Receipt reprints therefore remain historically accurate after tax settings change.
  • Refunds adjust tax in the filing period in which the refund happened. Full and partial cross-period refunds no longer rewrite a previously filed sale period.
  • Legacy stock movements use deterministic location attribution without guessing in ambiguous multi-location workspaces. Refunds retain the sale's original location even if that location was later deleted.

Fixed

  • A sale fully refunded in the same filing period now disappears from both tax totals and the period's order count, while partial refunds remain proportional.
  • Restricted POS controller actions fail closed, and cashiers without variance permission can count a shift without seeing the expected result first.

Tests

  • Qualified the completed POS accounting and inventory epic across the full Flutter application, domain, native, UI and printing suites, the complete Rust workspace, static analysis, formatting, Clippy and the flow inventory.

Faida Desktop 1.0.19

Added

  • POS sales now apply the workspace tax configuration consistently across the amount shown to the cashier, payment tendered, saved order and printed receipt. Inclusive and exclusive tax modes use the active default tax code's rate and identity.
  • POS stock movements now carry the till's configured location. Shifts keep that location for their lifetime, and returned or discarded goods go back through the original sale location where available.

Improved

  • The Charge action is a taller, primary-coloured, full-width button so the checkout action remains prominent on desktop and tablet layouts.
  • Product and variant availability is derived for the till location. Existing workspaces retain legacy unlocated stock, while an unresolved multi-location setup shows workspace availability instead of incorrectly showing zero.
  • Service-only shops can open and reconcile a shift without configuring an inventory shelf. Tracked-product sales still require a real location before anything is written.

Fixed

  • A fast charge immediately after startup can no longer become untaxed while the settings stream is still loading. The write boundary loads the persisted tax profile and refuses an invalid default-code configuration safely.
  • Loyalty-point redemptions allocate proportionally across net value and tax, keeping the displayed, paid and stored total additive after rounding.
  • Full and partial refunds now reverse their corresponding taxable value and tax in the tax-return report instead of leaving the original tax fully due.
  • Variant stock uses the standard quantity formatter and no longer introduces an extra zero-stock selection block beyond the established POS rules.

Tests

  • Added POS regressions for tax-code/rate consistency, inclusive and exclusive pricing, startup loading, loyalty redemption, refund tax reporting, legacy location stock, ambiguous locations, service-only shifts and the prominent Charge action.

Faida Desktop 1.0.18

Added

  • The POS can keep several customer checkouts open at once. Each checkout tab keeps its own cart, customer, discounts, loyalty redemption, payment choice and tenders, so a cashier can serve the next person without losing an unfinished sale.
  • The barcode button now opens the device camera on Android, iOS and macOS. USB and Bluetooth scanners continue to work through the search field, and scanned barcodes and scale labels add matching products directly to the cart.

Improved

  • Parked tickets open in a separate checkout when the current sale is busy, and completing one checkout leaves every other customer tab untouched.
  • Payment methods use readable, colour-coded buttons in a horizontal strip, including Mobile money and custom methods, while the Charge button now fills the order panel width.
  • Checkout tabs support the familiar new, close and next/previous keyboard shortcuts, and warn before discarding unfinished sales.

Tests

  • Added controller and widget regressions for independent checkout state, parked-ticket recovery, scanner behaviour, payment-method scrolling and the full-width Charge action.

Faida Desktop 1.0.17

Improved

  • Choosing Add stock from a product row now opens the stock-adjustment sheet with that product already selected. Opening the same form from the Inventory menu still starts with a blank product chooser.
  • A temporary module menu now closes as soon as its destination opens, so it cannot remain over the new page. A pinned menu stays open as before.

Tests

  • Added widget regressions for contextual product selection, blank generic stock adjustments, transient menu dismissal and pinned-menu behaviour.

Faida Desktop 1.0.16

Added

  • Faida now uses its bundled Rust core for workspace storage, cloud sync and LAN operation on every supported platform. The retired Dart database and sync backend have been removed.
  • Portable Bluetooth LE thermal printers can be selected for customer receipts and kitchen tickets on Android and iOS, alongside existing network ESC/POS printers.
  • Android customers can download a signed, versioned arm64 APK directly from the Faida website while the Play Store listing is prepared. The download page shows its size, version and SHA-256 checksum with safe installation guidance.

Improved

  • Cloud activation now carries a signed-out or newly registered user smoothly into the downloaded workspace, and background long-poll sync keeps all supported tables current through real server cursors.
  • A newly paired LAN client learns its company automatically and signs in through the Rust hub, so tablet setup no longer needs the company identifier entered by hand.
  • Printer settings now separate Network and Bluetooth LE clearly, scan the selected transport, show the chosen printer, test connectivity, and route office page printers to System Print or AirPrint instead of sending thermal receipt bytes to them.
  • Android and iOS keep Faida's title and status bars inside the system safe area. Page titles remain centred on macOS and start at the leading edge on touch devices and Windows.

Fixed

  • One tap on Print test creates at most one printer job, preventing duplicate pages from rapid or repeated touch events.
  • Android release builds now carry production cloud/LAN networking, optional Bluetooth permissions and upload-key signing instead of relying on debug-only manifest and signing configuration.

Tests

  • Qualified the Rust cutover through all nine release gates, including the full Rust and Flutter suites, cloud and LAN windows, database and backup compatibility, robot flows, and macOS/Windows/iOS/Android build proofs.
  • Added regressions for mobile safe areas, platform-specific title alignment, BLE printer settings and delivery, duplicate print suppression, office printer rejection, and the Android website release metadata and redirect.

Faida Desktop 1.0.15

Added

  • Every till sale now records who made it. The signed-in operator is credited automatically, and the sale carries that person through to the cloud, so counter takings can finally be read per salesperson instead of as one undifferentiated total.
  • A salesperson performance report in the customer portal: orders, takings, collected, average sale and latest sale for each person, over a date range set by preset or by exact dates.
  • Opening a salesperson shows that period in full — the totals, a day-by-day breakdown, and the recent orders behind the numbers, each linking through to the order itself. The hour-of-day breakdown counts only sales recorded on the day they happened, and says on screen how many it left out: imported history carries the time of its import, not the time of the sale.
  • Support can open a business's portal exactly as that business sees it, through a single-use grant that expires on its own.
  • Resellers have their own portal — their customers, licences, devices and agreement terms — and the admin console can invite a partner, resend their setup link, change their discount, and suspend or reinstate them.

Improved

  • Every list in the customer portal can be searched and paged. Lists stopped at 100 rows with no way past them, so a business with more customers, orders or products than that could not reach its own records.
  • Clicking a row opens it in full: an invoice shows its lines, a customer shows the orders behind its total and the payments behind its balance, a product shows which location holds its stock.
  • Rows carry actions — print the document, copy its number, follow what it links to — and any list can be exported to CSV. Printing opens the document on its own page, styled the way Faida Desktop prints it, so the browser's own "Save as PDF" is the download.
  • Licences are bought for the business and its devices, not assigned per user. "Buy seats" now reads "Buy licence", and the retired per-user assignment tables are gone from both the cloud and the desktop workspace.
  • The admin console dropped the payments-platform pages it carried but never ran — KYC, fees, settlement, providers, ledger, payouts, tariffs and transactions — along with the placeholder tabs behind them. What remains is what the console actually operates: companies, licences, devices, resellers, audit logs and settings.

Fixed

  • Outstanding balances counted only the customers on the first page, so a business with more debtors than one page saw a fraction of what it was owed. The ageing filter now runs in the database, across every customer.
  • A row deeper than the newest 500 could not be opened at all, on any list. Rows are now looked up by identity rather than searched within a recent window.
  • The module menu no longer vanishes when a list is searched or paged.
  • The sidebar's module icons switch the menu when clicked. They used to switch it on hover, so the menu changed under the pointer on its way somewhere else.

Tests

  • Added portal coverage for search, pagination, row detail, printing, CSV export and linked records across every list, and for the salesperson report's date range, per-person detail, and the split between sales that carry a real clock time and imported ones that do not.
  • Added desktop coverage that a till sale credits the signed-in operator, that an explicit salesperson overrides it, and that the attribution survives the round trip to the cloud.
  • Added reseller and impersonation coverage: who may open a partner dashboard, what an invitation issues, and that a support grant is single-use and time-limited.

Faida Desktop 1.0.14

Fixed

  • The user roster no longer shows the same person twice. Anyone who created their business in the customer portal and then activated a desktop was given a second identity for the same email address, and both appeared as Owner — only one of them usable.
  • Activating a desktop now recognises the person the business already knows instead of creating a new one, and an existing installation collapses the duplicate on its next cloud sync.
  • A password set against the duplicate carries across to the surviving account, so nobody is left with a sign-in that no longer belongs to a listed user.

Tests

  • Added coverage that activation after a portal-created business leaves exactly one user and one membership, that the repair keeps the identity the business history refers to, and that the desktop keeps one operator per address along with their password.

Faida is no longer sandboxed on macOS: the updater checks a downloaded release's Apple signature and notarization before installing it, and those checks cannot run inside the macOS App Sandbox, so every correctly downloaded update failed at the final trust step.
  • Installing this release on macOS is a one-time manual step. Version 1.0.12 and earlier cannot update themselves to it, because the update they are running is the one that was broken. Download Faida 1.0.13 and drag it to Applications as you did the first time. In-app updates work normally from 1.0.13 onwards.

Added

  • On the first launch of 1.0.13, macOS moves your workspaces, device preferences and saved credentials out of the old sandbox storage automatically. Nothing is deleted from the old location, so the previous version still opens its own data if you go back to it.

Tests

  • Added coverage for the macOS storage migration: a full container move, an interrupted copy resuming cleanly, and the guard that refuses to overwrite storage that already holds data.

Added

  • Invoice and document workflows expose more contextual actions without crowding their editing surfaces.

Improved

  • Select fields now use a single Lucide down chevron contained inside the input.
  • Overflow menus use compact, consistently aligned rows with a neutral highlight.
  • Release history and update feedback are easier to inspect from inside the app.

Fixed

  • Form, report, revision, and line-editor interactions received consistency and recovery fixes across supported desktop layouts.

Faida Desktop 1.0.11

Fixed

  • Local credential setup no longer traps a cloud-authenticated user when the downloaded workspace has no active owner or administrator. The screen can return to cloud activation without deleting the workspace.
  • The blocked setup screen also provides a guarded Reset and start over action that erases this installation and returns to first-time onboarding, even when there is no local user who can open Settings.

Tests

  • Added regressions for both recovery paths from a workspace with no active owner or administrator, including the typed RESET confirmation.

Faida Desktop 1.0.10

Added

  • Owners and administrators can now erase all Faida data stored on the current device and return to first-time onboarding from Settings → Device. The action requires typing RESET, warns about unsynced changes, and never deletes the cloud account or cloud data.

Fixed

  • Company-settings changes now enter the upload queue under the licensed cloud company identity, preventing the server from rejecting new settings changes as outside the workspace.
  • Existing queued company-settings changes with the old local settings id are repaired before upload, even when their company ownership was already right.

Tests

  • Added full-reset coverage for workspace databases, attachments, preferences, protected credentials and the clean onboarding transition.
  • Added real-repository and queued-mutation regressions for both new and previously stranded company-settings changes.

Faida Desktop 1.0.9

Changed

  • Secure cloud and device credentials now use the Faida-owned Keychain service Faida Secure Storage on Apple platforms and a fresh Faida-owned namespace on Android.
  • This release intentionally starts secure storage clean and does not read or migrate values from the old plugin-named service. Existing users need to sign in to the cloud once so Faida can save fresh device credentials; local workspace data and the local lock password are unaffected.

Fixed

  • macOS Keychain permission prompts no longer expose the internal fluttersecurestorageservice plugin name.

Tests

  • Added regression coverage for the user-visible Apple Keychain service and label, the new Android namespace, and rejection of the old plugin default.

Faida Desktop 1.0.8

Added

  • Cloud activation now establishes a device-bound session using an installation key kept in OS-protected storage, while licence verification trusts only the public keyring bundled with the app.
  • Owners can recover access without making local sign-in depend on the cloud, and invited users remain local workspace identities rather than licence seats.

Changed

  • A successful cloud sign-in enters an existing locally protected workspace directly. New installations are guided to create their local password and optional PIN once, instead of being asked to repeat their cloud password.
  • Licensing now counts devices, keeps ordinary sign-in fully offline, and exchanges short-lived device proofs for cloud sync sessions.

Fixed

  • Cloud refresh credentials no longer live in the workspace database or its backups, and restored workspaces cannot reuse another installation's device identity.
  • The production desktop workflow now refuses to publish a build without a non-empty licence verification keyring.

Tests

  • Qualified real device-bound activation, restart through local authentication, two-way sync, tenant isolation and cloud-conflict recovery against a disposable Phoenix/Electric stack: 3 flows, 16 steps and 0 failures.

Faida Desktop 1.0.7

Fixed

  • Installing an update on macOS now stops cloud sync and closes the workspace database before restarting, preventing the outgoing app from crashing during Flutter shutdown.
  • Workspace database shutdown is idempotent, so overlapping provider disposal cannot close SQLite twice.
  • Cloud sync automatically repairs queued company-settings changes that still carry the pre-cloud workspace identity, clearing the repeated HTTP 422 upload failure after activation.
  • Fully rejected uploads now show the server's mutation-level reason instead of a generic HTTP status message.

Tests

  • Added updater shutdown-order and repeated database-close coverage.
  • Added fully rejected upload, sync-start repair, and company-settings identity regression coverage.

Faida Desktop 1.0.6

Added

  • Existing cloud workspaces now open a recovery prompt showing local and cloud summaries before any data is changed.
  • Each conflicting record can be resolved by keeping the local copy or taking the cloud copy.
  • Sync Status now provides upload, download, and hard-sync actions with visible progress across all 35 cloud data shapes.
  • Added guided printer tools, searchable role permissions, clearer payment methods, recoverable tab overflow, reporting charts, and consistent application dialogs.

Improved

  • Sync actions now appear above the data-shape table so recovery controls remain easy to find.
  • Cloud sync is explicitly two-way: an account with existing cloud data offers to download it instead of behaving like upload-only storage.
  • Settings and dialogs use clearer status, action, and validation patterns.

Fixed

  • Choosing “Take cloud copy” now makes the downloaded record authoritative on the next sync instead of immediately re-uploading the local version.
  • Cloud payload mapping and server shape coverage now stay aligned across the supported workspace schema.

Tests

  • Qualified cloud recovery against a real Phoenix/Electric stack on macOS with 2 flows, 8 steps, and 0 failures.

Faida Desktop 1.0.5

Added

  • Settings is now organized into six responsive categories for Business, Sales & POS, Inventory & tax, Team & access, Device & hardware, and Cloud & updates.
  • Cloud & updates now shows sync health, queued changes, last upload and download times, hard-sync progress, update controls, release notes, and workspace recovery in one place.
  • POS settings can add and rename payment methods without editing raw configuration.

Improved

  • Settings keeps unsaved changes available while moving between categories and hides the Save footer on read-only pages unless another category has pending edits.
  • Numeric settings now show clear inline errors instead of silently changing invalid values after Save.
  • Loyalty, discount, restaurant, tax, scale, delivery, and online-payment options appear only when their parent feature needs them.
  • Tax settings no longer allow contradictory enabled and disabled modes, and immediate-save controls now explain when they take effect.

Fixed

  • The last enabled POS payment method can no longer be switched off, preventing a till with no way to complete a sale.
  • Changing the default payment method list now keeps the selected default valid.

Tests

  • Added responsive Settings navigation, payment safety, progressive disclosure, numeric validation, sync/update action, and persistent-draft coverage.

  • Sync performs a safe hard sync—uploading pending local changes before downloading the authoritative cloud workspace—and reports progress in the status bar.
  • Update checks, downloads, verifies, installs, and restarts Faida in one action, with check and download progress shown in the status bar.
  • Lock keeps the current page in place behind a blocking overlay that accepts the signed-in user's PIN or allows an explicit log out.

Changed

  • Removed the Password, PIN, and separate Sign out shortcuts from the status bar. Credential management remains available from user settings.

Added

  • The local lock screen can now return to Faida Cloud activation, so an existing cloud account can be recovered without reinstalling the app.
  • Sync settings now show download progress by table and provide a guarded Hard sync action.

Fixed

  • Cloud sync now downloads and applies the core workspace data used by sales, purchases, stock, invoices, and payments instead of only uploading local changes.
  • Hard sync uploads pending local work before replacing local cloud-backed data and stops safely if any upload remains queued.
  • Cloud rows are normalized to the local database shape, including encoded JSON fields and transaction relationships.

Tests

Faida Desktop 0.0.44

Added

  • The full-screen POS now handles dine-in, takeaway and delivery from the same till. Dine-in can select a table and guest count, open or resume a bill, send unsent items to the kitchen, print a kitchen ticket and settle only when the service flow is ready. Takeaway keeps the fast counter flow, split tender and loyalty; delivery records its service details and closes through the same POS.
  • Product pictures now appear on POS product cards. Products without a picture receive a stable, readable monogram tile instead of a broken or empty card.
  • Added Employee reports. A timesheet shows who worked each day with first clock-in, last clock-out, entry count and hours (open entries count up to now and are flagged "on the clock"), beside hours-by-employee and sales-by-employee panels with average order and takings per hour worked. Filters by date range and employee, and exports to CSV.

Changed

  • Removed the separate Restaurant POS page. Table Planner, Kitchen Display, online restaurant orders and the mobile POS now use the unified full-screen POS rather than maintaining a second till with different behavior.
  • Page actions now state why they are disabled, and action results remain visible in a compact status row even where the page title is hidden.
  • Customer, supplier and product forms now arrange related fields side by side — contact and phone, email and status, SKU and barcode, cost and price — instead of one long single column, so each form reads in half the height with an even rhythm.
  • POS controls are sized for touch: the service bar, mode switch, table and guest controls, category and discount chips, quantity steppers, tender inputs and the charge button all grew to comfortable tap targets without changing the layout.

Fixed

  • The customer display window no longer flashes and rebuilds itself on open: the server now renders the display for its window rather than the main app, so the second screen comes up in one paint.
  • Print windows keep their batch title ("4 barcode labels") instead of being renamed to a temporary file name by the PDF viewer.

Tests

  • Added an isolated Playwright Electron robot that inventories every desktop route, named form and page-owned button; safely exercises native dialogs, printing and external handoffs; records click-level coverage; and captures screenshots for every route and action flow.
  • Added a shared Codex and Claude Code skill for repeating the audit, fixing regressions test-first and discovering new or unfinished interface flows.

Kompyuta

Faida Desktop 0.0.43

Fixed

  • A workspace set up before its licence was activated could have every change refused by the cloud, permanently, with "mutation company does not match the authenticated license". The workspace and the licence were recorded under different companies, and nothing brought them back together — changes queued for months without ever uploading. Sync Status now offers to move the workspace onto the company its licence is for. It states both companies and what would change before it does anything: records keep their numbers, nothing is deleted, and the queued changes upload afterwards.
  • Records synced to the cloud stored their JSON fields as text containing JSON rather than as JSON, so anything reading them back got a string instead of the object.

Changed

  • Licence seats can be revoked from the portal. Revoking frees the seat for another device and cuts off the revoked device's sync access. A device that is already offline keeps working until its licence expires — that is what offline-first means — so revoke before handing a machine on, not after.

Faida Desktop 0.0.42

Fixed

  • When the cloud rejected queued changes, Faida reported only how many were rejected — "26 sync mutations were rejected" — and dropped the reason the server had sent for each one. The reason now appears with the count, in the sync banner and on the Sync Status page, so a stuck queue can be acted on instead of guessed at. This was worst in the case that matters most: when nothing at all was accepted.

Faida Desktop 0.0.41

Fixed

  • Updating to 0.0.40 could leave the app asking you to create a local admin you already had, with the error "no such table: posshifts". Existing installs were missing the tables 0.0.40 added, because a single failing statement stopped the rest of the database upgrade. Those tables are now created on the next launch, and nothing was lost — they had never held any data on the affected machines. A new install was never affected.

Faida Desktop 0.0.40

Added

  • Simple mode: a shop can choose a curated surface at onboarding, cutting the menu to five modules instead of seven modules and fifty-five destinations. Advanced mode is unchanged, and a restored session will not reopen a page the mode hides.
  • Shifts: open the till with a counted float, record cash in and out, and close against a counted drawer. Expected cash is worked out at close from the takings that were actually recorded, so a sale that syncs in late counts rather than showing up as a shortfall.
  • Open tickets: park a cart under a name — a customer, a table, a collection slot — and settle it later. A parked ticket stays open until it is charged, so walking away from a resumed cart loses nothing.
  • Split payment: one sale can take cash plus card plus mobile money. The receipt shows what each method took, and only cash can be tendered above the total, because change is handed back in cash.
  • Loyalty: enrol a customer, scan their card at the till, earn points on what they actually paid, and redeem capped by their balance, the basket in front of them and the scheme's minimum. Points imported from Frappe Books arrive as an opening balance instead of being dropped.
  • Item variants and modifiers: sell a size or colour as its own SKU under a parent product, and offer choices such as "Large" or "extra shot" that price the line and name themselves on the receipt.
  • Barcode labels: print a shelf of labels to A4 sheet stock or to a roll, starting partway down a part-used sheet, with the price and either the product's barcode or its SKU.
  • Time clock: staff clock in and out from the till, and an hourly workload report shows when the shop is busy and who was on the floor for it.
  • Thermal hardware: receipts print to a network ESC/POS printer, the cash drawer opens on a cash sale after the receipt is cut, and kitchen tickets print only the items just sent.
  • Scale barcodes: a label printed by a shop's scale is read as the item plus its weighed price or weight, at the price on the sticker.
  • Customer display: a second window on a spare screen shows the basket, the total and the change as they change.
  • Receipts can be reprinted from sales history, refunded from the reopened receipt, and can carry the customer's address.
  • Low stock raises a desktop notification, and a tax return report totals net, tax and exempt turnover by tax code.

Changed

  • A POS sale is attributed to the signed-in cashier rather than to whichever user happened to be active, so a till shared by two people no longer misattributes every sale.
  • A reprinted receipt renders from the branding stored with the payment, so a receipt reprinted after a rebrand still looks like the one the customer was given.

Tested

  • Desktop type checking 11/11, 312 assertions in the desktop suite, and the domain, reports and import-export suites, all passing against a clean build.
  • Barcode labels were checked by decoding the rendered PDFs with a scanner rather than by eye.

Faida Desktop 0.0.39

Added

  • Shipments: record what left the building against a sales order, with carrier, method, tracking number, shipment date, remarks and box numbers. Shipped quantity is capped by what was actually fulfilled, partial shipments each keep their own tracking, and tracking is visible from the order as well as the Shipments page.
  • Pricing schemes: an order can be priced from a named scheme such as retail or wholesale, a customer can supply a default, and item prices resolve from the scheme and the order date. Switching schemes lists exactly which lines would change and waits for confirmation.
  • Order history now keeps restorable versions. Reverting shows what it would change, field by field and line by line, before anything is applied, and records who did it.
  • Order lines can be moved up and down from the row menu or with Alt and the arrow keys, on sales orders, purchase orders and quotes.
  • Backup now has a data integrity check that reports duplicate records, duplicate document numbers and broken links without the workspace leaving the machine.
  • Stock can be fulfilled from a specific bin within a location.
  • Invoices show and link to the sales order they came from.

Changed

  • The order, purchase order and quote editors show only real lines with an Add line button, instead of padding the grid with blank rows that look like data.
  • A line price that differs from the order's pricing scheme is marked as an override and survives a later scheme change untouched. Overrides are limited to authorised users and are recorded.
  • Cancelling a shipment keeps it in history rather than deleting it, so a tracking number a customer was already given stays visible.
  • High-traffic screens now subscribe to only the data they display, which keeps large workspaces responsive.
  • Windows installers now declare their publisher, so the app can confirm an update was signed by us before installing it.
  • A red bar appears across the top when the connection is down and disappears when it returns, and it says that work is still being saved locally.

Fixed

  • Printing a POS receipt did nothing in the desktop app. It now prints through the app's own print bridge and reports the outcome, including when there is no printer.
  • Printing a document in a browser tab could fail with a blocked pop-up and no document. It now hands over the PDF instead.
  • Editing a customer's address on the customer form left the address used by order forms and printed documents unchanged, so documents kept the old address. Both now stay in step. Suppliers had the same problem.
  • Typing into the Address, Contact or ID cells in the customer and supplier lists appeared to save but changed nothing. Those columns are now read-only, and any edit that cannot be saved is refused rather than silently dropped.
  • Reordering lines on an order, purchase order or quote is now kept after reloading.

Tested

  • Full desktop test suite, type checking and linting pass, along with the server suite against a disposable Postgres.
  • Automated browser audit covers 20 screens with no blocking failures and no unresponsive controls.

Security

  • License verification fails closed in production: the built-in development key is never trusted, cloud sync requires a cryptographically verified license signature, and a manually pasted license can no longer vouch for itself with a key embedded in the pasted text.
  • Backup folders are enforced by the desktop app itself: creating or listing backups only works in folders approved through the folder picker (or the saved backup folder), so no other part of the app can write backups to arbitrary locations.
  • The legacy web checkout that could issue activation keys without payment has been removed; all purchases go through the portal buy flow.

Fixed

  • Paying the exact displayed total in the POS is always accepted: sale totals are rounded consistently and the cash tender check compares whole currency units, so a hidden sub-unit tax remainder can no longer reject an exact tender.
  • A completed POS sale can no longer be charged twice: with auto-reset off the Charge button locks until the sale is reset or the cart is edited, and "Next sale" on the receipt now starts a fresh sale.
  • Double-clicking Confirm in the portal "Buy seats" flow no longer creates two orders or fires two mobile-money payment prompts.
  • LAN sync no longer confirms uploads it cannot apply: paired devices keep their queued changes and show a sync error instead of silently losing sales.

Changed

  • Workspace saves are transactional and serialized, failed saves are surfaced in the sync status instead of being ignored, and the local database is closed cleanly on quit — protecting POS data from power loss and crashes.
  • LAN pairing records are written atomically and throttled, and the LAN server shuts down cleanly on quit, so paired devices are not forgotten after a crash.

Tests

  • Server suite (129 tests), desktop typecheck, and all desktop unit suites pass. First tests added for the licensing package (sign/verify round-trips, fail-closed key resolution), plus new regression tests for money rounding, the sync upload route, backup path approval, workspace write serialization, and the portal double-submit guard.

Added

  • Import from Frappe Books: the Import page now offers a "Frappe Books database" source that reads a .books.db file and brings in full history — items, customers and suppliers, sales and purchase invoices, payments, and stock movements — with item images. Re-running the import replaces the previous Frappe Books import instead of duplicating it, and the currency must match the workspace.

Changed

  • Draft sales and purchase orders are no longer counted in customer receivable and supplier payable balances, matching standard accounting treatment of unposted documents.

Fixed

  • Print and Save PDF preview showed a blank frame in the desktop app; Chromium's built-in PDF viewer frame is now allowed through the window navigation guard.
  • POS "Exit" and other confirmation prompts did nothing when the cart had items; the confirmation dialog is now mounted for every screen.

Tests

  • Desktop typecheck and unit tests passed, including an end-to-end import of a real Frappe Books database (customer receivables, per-item stock, and document counts verified), plus a live Electron check that the PDF preview renders.

Added

  • Sales orders now open inline in a master-detail layout: the search panel and an order card list stay on the left while the selected order opens on the right, with "Open in tab" still available.
  • Order editor gained an order-level stock Location selector, a selectable Sales rep (defaults to the signed-in user), an Order date / Invoiced date label toggle once an invoice exists, and a per-order History dialog (who changed the order, its invoice and its payments, and when).
  • Non-blocking insufficient-stock warning when a line quantity exceeds on-hand stock, shown regardless of the negative-stock setting.
  • Payment slips can be attached when recording a customer or supplier payment, with a paperclip indicator on each payment row.
  • Printed and PDF documents now include billing/shipping addresses, terms, sales rep and customer reference.

Changed

  • Invoices created from a sales order reuse the order number instead of a separate INV- sequence, and order lists show an "Invoiced" badge. Standalone invoices keep the INV- fallback.
  • Document numbers are generated with padding-aware sequencing so a new order can no longer collide with an imported zero-padded number (e.g. SO-31887 vs SO-031887).
  • Record ids now use crypto.randomUUID, removing collision risk during large inFlow imports.

Fixed

  • Faster stock-count, assembly and finance list rendering on large datasets via single-pass on-hand aggregation and map-based lookups; deferred search filtering on the orders list.
