Make your first sale

Find a product, check the basket, take payment, and issue a receipt.

Browse documentation

Before starting, check that your products, prices, and payment methods are set up. Sign in as the staff member making the sale.

Start a basket

Open Point of sale. Search for a product, scan its barcode, or select it from the catalogue. Check the quantity and price on the line you added.

If you need the sale on a customer’s account, select that customer before taking payment.

Confirm the total

Check the basket with the customer. Remove unwanted lines and correct quantities before charging. Review any discount and tax shown in the total.

Some changes depend on staff permissions. If a price or discount control is unavailable, ask someone with permission to make the change.

Take payment

Select the method the customer used. For cash, enter the amount received and check the change due. For mobile money or card, confirm the payment with the provider before recording it in Faida.

For a split payment, enter the amount for each method. For example, a TSh 20,000 sale paid with TSh 5,000 cash needs another TSh 15,000 recorded against the second method.

Issue the receipt

Complete the sale and print or send the receipt. Check that the till is ready for the next customer.

For your first sale, also open the order history and confirm the products and payment breakdown. If this was a test, reverse it through the return flow so it does not remain in your takings.
