Close the trading day

Review sales, payments, cash, and exceptions before the team leaves the shop.

Browse documentation

Keep the cash count, payment-provider records, and sales report to hand. Check differences before the shift leaves.

Review the sales summary

Open the daily report and confirm the period, branch, and register. Compare gross sales, discounts, returns, tax, and net sales with what the team expected from the day.

Reconcile payment methods

Compare each payment method separately. Count cash, check mobile-money or bank records, and review split payments and reversals. Allow for the opening float and cash taken out during the day.

  • Record the actual cash count before looking at the expected difference.
  • Investigate unusual discounts or voids.
  • Confirm that open orders are intentionally still open.
  • Keep a note for every explained difference.

Review stock exceptions

Look for negative quantities, large adjustments, and products that crossed their reorder level. Write down any differences that need a stock count or a check with the next shift.

Leave a clear handover

Export or print the report if the owner, accountant, or next shift needs a copy. A good handover states what balanced, what did not, and who will follow up.
