The hub holds the workspace. The tablet needs to reach it over the shop network, even when the outside internet is down.
Prepare the hub
Open Faida on the hub device and check that the correct workspace is open. Connect the tablet to the same trusted shop network. Keep the hub awake while tablet tills are in use.
A hub can be a desktop, Android tablet, or iPad. An iPad must stay awake with Faida open; locking it or switching apps can interrupt every connected till. Read Use an iPad as your shop hub before choosing an iPad as the main device.
Connect the tablet
Open the tablet pairing flow and follow the connection instructions. Use the pairing details from the hub for the workspace you want to join.
- Check the branch before accepting the connection.
- Give the tablet a name you will recognise, such as Front counter.
- Sign in as the staff member who will use it.
- Check that the expected products and prices appear.
Try a sale and the receipt printer at the counter where the tablet will be used. If it is a test transaction, reverse it afterwards.
If the internet goes down
Keep the shop router and hub device running. The tablet can still reach the hub over the local network while the outside internet is unavailable.
Cloud sync and off-site backups need internet access. Check sync status after the connection returns before relying on reports viewed from another location.
If the tablet cannot reach the workspace
Check these before pairing the device again:
- Is the hub device awake, with Faida open?
- Are both devices on the shop network? Guest Wi-Fi may prevent devices from reaching each other.
- Is the tablet within Wi-Fi range?
- Is the correct workspace open on the hub?
If the connection still fails, contact support with the message shown on the tablet.
